The Catawba became a federally recognized tribe in 1941
1959 - TERMINATION ACT
Due to the Termination Act the Catawba Nation loses their Federal recognition. Tribal membership population was slightly more than 600 by 1962
1973 - TRIBAL COUNCIL REORGANIZED
After being recognized by the state of South Carolina the next battle would be to regain the status as a federally recognized tribe.
1993 - REGAIN FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED STATUS
After almost 2 decades, the Catawba Indian Nation regain their status as a federally recognized tribe.
1996 - CREATION OF THE CORPORATE NATION
Creation of the Section 17 company allowing separation of business and government at the Catawba Nation
2016 - ESTABLISHED RED HERITAGE MEDIA
2017 - RED HERITAGE OBTAINED 8(A) STATUS
2020 - CATAWBA CORPORATIONS
Catawba Corporations is rebranded
